Procedures during and after returning from the exchange

Is it possible to extend an exchange?

It depends. The extension is subject to the availability of places at the destination university, the authorization of the person responsible for the announcement and the approval of the student's course coordinator.

The final decision on the possibility of an extension is always made by the person responsible for the announcement. Although the foreign university may inform the student that he/she may extend the exchange, this may not be feasible if the person responsible for the announcement decides to open a new selection process for new candidates.

In this case, the student may extend the exchange, but without using the spaces provided by the agreement or enjoying the benefits offered between the university and Unicamp, which means that he/she will not be exempt from the fees and monthly payments charged by the host institution.

If an extension is possible, the student must follow the procedures on the page REGISTRATION, APPROVAL AND LEAVE.

How can I obtain a signature from DERI or the Coordination of my course while away from the Campus?

Please contact us by email regarding the procedures. Often, coming to campus can be avoided with the digital signature procedure.

What to do when returning from exchange?

The student must follow the guidelines described in Return-Validation to find out about enrollment procedures, course performance and grade calculation.

What is the process for using credits and subjects?

The use of credits and subjects taken abroad is as described on the DAC page, which can be accessed by clicking here. There is information about the necessary documents and steps that must be followed.

DERI does not interfere in this process, which is the responsibility of the Course Coordination and DAC.

The same applies to internships abroad. We recommend that students inquire about this possibility with the Executive Board of Student Support and Retention (DEAPE), formerly Student Support Service (SAE) and your course coordination before the internship begins.

How do I report on a scholarship I received for the exchange?

Each scholarship or financial aid has specific rules and procedures for reporting. These rules are provided from the beginning, in the notice. However, if you have any questions or do not remember, contact the same person or institution that gave you the instructions for receiving the scholarship and ask again for the appropriate procedures for your case.

In general, the documents normally requested for the accounting process include:

  • Boarding passes;
  • Activity reports;
  • Declaration of the Foreign Institution;
  • Accountability form (only in some cases);
  • Exchange report.

Is it possible to do an internship abroad that can be validated and used in my course?

International internships carried out by UNICAMP students abroad are regulated by Resolution GR-041/2021, of 06/05/2021. DERI does not participate in any stage of the internship regularization process, and the student must negotiate the necessary procedures with the coordinator of the course in which he/she is enrolled at UNICAMP.
