IMPORTANT: In addition to the requirements above, any student who is interested in participating in public notices managed by DERI must read and be aware of the articles contained in the DERI Internal Ordinance 04/2024.
Registration for open notices must only be done on the DAC portal, through SIGA. The student must search the menu Exchange > Registration in selection processes the Notice in which you wish to register and provide the information requested in the notice.
- Students who, in a previous notice managed by DERI, have withdrawn from their exchange after being appointed to the destination university are considered ineligible.
- If the student is selected by the notice, appointed to the destination University and subsequently accepted, he or she must leave for exchange reasons with the DAC, in accordance with the instructions and procedures in force at the time.
In specific cases, the notice may list criteria other than these. However, if there is no mention in the notice of any exceptionality, these will be the criteria considered. Students outside this standard will be considered ineligible. Students can access all open notices, however, they can only register for notices for which they meet all the requirements informed by the Notice coordinator. Approval in the UNICAMP selection process does not guarantee student exchange. Final approval of the candidate will rest exclusively with the destination university.

Cotas
DERI implemented a new measure with the aim of promoting greater inclusion and diversity in exchange notices, managed by DERI, for undergraduate and postgraduate students. From now on, 50% of the places offered with financial assistance from Banco Santander will be reserved for Mulger candidates, black, brown and indigenous students (PPI) and public school graduates.
The adoption of quotas in notices managed by DERI is regulated by DERI Internal Ordinance 5/2024. To compete for these vacancies, the candidate must meet the eligibility criteria set out in the DERI Internal Ordinance 04/2024 and is registered in the SIGA system of the Academic Board (DAC) as an entrant through ethnic-racial quotas, public school quotas, PAAIS, or completion of Profis.
Approval
Each student will receive, via the SIGA system, information about their approval or rejection in each notice. In case of rejection (not included in the notice), the student will also receive, via the SIGA system, the pertinent information about their disqualification/non-acceptance.
Due to the General Data Protection Law (LGPD), DERI no longer publicly discloses the list of students selected in the notices managed by DERI.
Removal (locking) by exchange
Procedure for leave due to exchange
- Students included in notices managed by DERI or by teaching units from the year 2021 onwards will have an exchange leave automatically carried out by the SIGA system after sending the necessary documentation and within the deadlines stipulated by DAC.
The mandatory documents to formalize the exchange leave are:
- Syllabus – with the subjects to be studied during the exchange;
- If the destination university requires a specific template, this document can be used.
- If the foreign university does not request a specific template, the student can prepare a free-formatted document with the subjects he/she intends to take. To do this, it is recommended to seek guidance from the course coordinator.
- DERI prepared a model of study plan to be used as a reference in situations such as a request from the foreign university of destination or for the purpose of exchange leave. Remembering that the use of this model It's not mandatory and can be adapted as needed.
- Exchange Term / Letter of Acceptance – issued by the university of origin (foreign university);
- Health insurance – with medical, hospital and repatriation coverage for the entire exchange period.
IMPORTANT: In the case of students selected in DOUBLE DEGREE notices, health insurance with medical, hospital and repatriation coverage is ALSO mandatory, starting on the date of departure from Brazil until at least two or three months after arrival in France, during which period French insurance must be purchased.
Students included in notices that were not managed via the SIGA system and who need to take leave or extend the exchange must contact the coordinator/responsible for the notice. He/she will request the removal via letter directly to the Academic Board (DAC).
Withdrawal before locking takes effect
If the student wants or needs to withdraw from the exchange for any reason and the withdrawal has not been carried out, they must formalize the withdrawal request by email, writing to derime@unicamp.br, putting as Subject: Exchange cancellation and with the following text: “I, RA no., Notice no. request to withdraw from my exchange program”.
Exchange Interruption
If the student is already formally on exchange and needs to interrupt mobility and return to Brazil for any reason, he or she must request the interruption of exchange via email derime@unicamp.br, aware of the possible consequences of this decision. DERI will analyze the request and, if necessary, will contact you requesting clarification.
Extension of the exchange
Since the exchange extension functionality through the SIGA system is not yet available, students included in notices managed by DERI and/or Double Diploma notices and who wish to extend the exchange for another semester must comply with the following procedures:
- Contact the person responsible for the notice to check if there are places available to extend the exchange.
- Send an email to derime@unicamp.br with the following documents:
- document or email (in PDF format) that proves the authorization of the person responsible for the notice to extend the exchange;
- document or email (in PDF format) that proves the authorization of the foreign university to extend the exchange;
- document or email (in PDF format) that proves authorization from the coordination of the course in which the student is enrolled at UNICAMP, authorizing the extension of the exchange.
» The documents above must be sent ALL in a single email to derime@unicamp.br for purposes of proving and filing the necessary authorizations for extension. The student may, at their discretion, send a single file in PDF format with all authorizations.
» Requests for extensions that do not meet all the authorizations described above will NOT be carried out by DERI, and it is the responsibility of the student to request the suspension of enrollment with DAC for personal reasons.
IMPORTANT: DERI will only make a new appointment if the extension does not interfere with the number of vacancies agreed in the agreement with the foreign university and if such vacancies will not be used in future notices. Therefore, even if the foreign university and/or the course coordination authorize the extension of the exchange, in case of unavailability of places and/or in case the places have been foreseen in notices to be opened later, DERI will not appoint the (a) student, who may continue the exchange at the foreign university as a student free mover.
