On September 8, 2025, representatives of the Executive Board of International Relations (DERI) of Unicamp carried out a technical visit to Marie Cederschiöld University (MCU), a private higher education institution located in Stockholm, specialized in the areas of social work, nursing, health, theology and civil society studies.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Anna O'Sullivan, Deputy Head of the Department of Health Sciences at MCU, and Ms. Jenny Wiklund, Studies and Mobility Administrator at the University of Campinas' Office of International Relations. On behalf of Unicamp, Heloísa Claro, International Relations Advisor and professor at the School of Nursing (FENF), and Ludmila Pioli, International Cooperation Assistant, also participated.
During the visit, the DERI delegation had the opportunity to explore MCU's academic spaces and interact with the local university community. MCU, with approximately 2.000 students and 100 faculty and staff, maintains a diverse student population: most students are over 25, balancing work, studies, and, in many cases, family care. Approximately 82% of students are women, reflecting the institution's historical profile.
With a strong ethical focus and commitment to community service, MCU combines theory and practice in its undergraduate, graduate, and research programs, emphasizing the integration of professional practice into social, philosophical, and ethical contexts. Despite its smaller size compared to Unicamp, the Swedish university has a significant impact in research and teaching.
As a result of the visit, an inter-institutional cooperation agreement is being negotiated between MCU and Unicamp, in addition to the planning of an incoming mobility notice, which will allow the exchange of students between the two institutions.
