Beijing delegation

Unicamp received, through the Executive Directorate of International Relations (DERI), this Monday (9), a delegation composed of 25 representatives of educational institutions in China, led by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission. The visit had as its main objective to strengthen academic ties and explore possibilities of cooperation between Unicamp and Chinese universities.

The meeting took place in the Maurício Tragtenberg auditorium of the Unicamp School of Education. The Chinese delegation was composed of representatives from universities such as Peking University, Tsinghua University, Beijing Normal University and other technical institutions. Several professors, directors and coordinators participated in the meeting on behalf of Unicamp, including the Director of International Relations, Rafael Dias, and the Dean of the School of Education, Debora Cristina Jeffrey.

Wei Xubin, deputy director-general of the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, gave a presentation with consecutive translation provided by the Confucius Institute of Unicamp. Representatives of Chinese institutions then gave brief presentations, introducing their areas of expertise and interests in international collaborations. 

Beijing meeting

Among the topics discussed were study programs in China for undergraduate, master's and doctoral students; summer and winter school initiatives; exchange programs for high school students and teacher training.

The event concluded with a speech by Professor Débora Jeffrey and a closing speech by Professor Rafael Dias. After the institutional meeting, visitors took part in a brief guided tour of the Faculty of Education and the Confucius Institute.
