The French Embassy in Brazil, in partnership with Brazilian universities, offers the Guatá 2025 Scholarship, exclusively for Brazilian indigenous students enrolled in doctoral programs. The scholarship allows students to undertake exchange programs at French universities for a period of 6 to 11 months in the 2025-2026 academic year.
Who can apply?
Indigenous doctoral students enrolled in 2025 at one of the partner universities: USP, Unicamp, UnB, UEA, UFGD, UFRR, UFPA, UFPE, Unilab and UFMG.
Benefits of the scholarship:
- Round-trip airfare from Brazil to France;
- Monthly grant worth €1.704;
- Exemption from academic fees in French public institutions;
- Initial health insurance and assistance in finding accommodation;
- Free consular procedures and visa.
Important deadlines:
- Registration for pre-selection: until March 9, 2025 (23:59 p.m., Brasília time);
- Proof of acceptance at a French university: until May 5, 2025 (23:59 p.m., Brasília time);
- Results: May 7, 2025;
- Start of mobility: September 2025.
